Backsplash Design Center
Zellige, stacked tile, slab splash, classic subway, large format, herringbone, and vertical layouts — and which we're installing most right now.
Surface, light reflection, grout-line scale, and pattern read completely differently in person. These are the actual styles NewCo installs across Utah Valley, Salt Lake County, Heber, and Park City.

Handmade Moroccan clay, irregular pillowed surface
NewCo's most-installed luxury backsplash. Catches Utah morning light beautifully behind a range.

Continuation of the counter slab up the full wall
Calacatta quartz or quartzite running floor-to-hood. Joint-free, premium, the most-requested 2026 upgrade.

24×48 in stack or third-offset
Minimal grout, calm look. Ideal for slab-splash alternatives and primary baths.

Rectangular tile in vertical or horizontal straight stack
Reads clean and modern. Pairs with slim shaker and slab cabinets.

3×6 or 4×12 with 50% offset
Reliable resale. Use a pillowed handmade subway with natural sand grout — not glossy glass.

Rectangles set at 90° in a zigzag
Adds movement. Best on accent walls, mudrooms, and primary bath floors.

Standard subway installed vertically
Draws the eye up — strong on hood walls and short backsplash zones.

1" honed Carrara hexagons with sand grout
Classic powder-bath and primary-bath floor. Reads premium and timeless in person.

Hand-painted cement tile, geometric repeat
Pattern-forward feature for mudrooms, laundry floors, and entry accents. Use sparingly — one room, max.
Backsplash is small square footage, huge impact.
Two finishes, one wall — we'll bring tile mock-ups so you can see them against your cabinets and counter before the order goes in.

Same tile, different pattern, completely different room. Modern Utah kitchens trend toward stacked or vertical; transitional toward subway offset; baths and mudrooms toward herringbone.

FAQ
Direct answers about NewCo Home, our process, and the projects we deliver across Utah.
What is the most popular backsplash in Utah right now?
Warm white zellige tile behind the range is the dominant Utah Parade of Homes choice. Full slab splash (counter material running up the wall) is a strong second, especially in luxury custom homes with marble-look quartz or quartzite.
Should the backsplash run to the ceiling?
On the range wall and hood surround — yes, in current Utah designs. On the rest of the perimeter, standard counter-to-cabinet height is still appropriate. Floor-to-ceiling everywhere is a styling choice, not a default.
Is subway tile outdated?
Standard 3x6 glass subway with high-contrast grout reads dated. Pillowed handmade subway, elongated 4x12, and vertical stacked subway in warm whites all read current.
What grout color should I choose?
Match the tile within one shade. For zellige and warm white tile use a warm white or natural sand grout. Stark white tile on dark grout reads dated in 2026.
